A New Life
The baby was first suspected in early March, and was confirmed not long after. A short exam and a sonogram on March 14 placed the age at about 8 weeks. Our baby is expected to arrive near the end of October.

This picture is supposed to be the actual size, but it looks larger after scanning it in. The full-size picture has a ruler inserted for comparison. As you will see, our baby is only about a quarter-inch long right now.
A Little Closer

The doctor zoomed in with the sonogram machine to try to get more detail.

The most amazing thing was that we could see the baby's heart beating, at a nice rapid pace of 168 beats per second. It's still a little early to determine our baby's sex, but we plan to find out as soon as it is possible.

The raw, untouched, high-resolution (600dpi) scan of the sonograms is available here. It is almost 2 MB, so it may take a little while to load.
