Around 8:30 pm CDT on Friday, October 5, 2001
After Mom got to hold him awhile and attempt to feed him a little, I carried Alexander to the nursery. (It was either me or a nurse, so I did it.)
At the nursery, he was warmed up again. Then a nurse injected him with a small shot of vitamin K and did a thorough job of taking care of the remains of his umbilical cord / belly button. This is when he uttered his first long, full-lunged cry.
